At Arkadelphia Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway rises from the Timberlands and meets the Ouachita Mountains at sparkling DeGray Lake, which affords ample opportunities for camping, fishing, water skiing, motor boating and other water sports. DeGray Lake Resort State Park has campgrounds as well as a newly renovated 96-room lodge, an 18-hole golf course, horseback riding, a full-service marina and interpretive programs that include snorkeling trips and eagle-watching tours. Also, the nearby Caddo and Ouachita rivers are popular for fishing, canoeing and floating. Arkadelphia was the site of Radio KoL's Arkanstock 2005.

The Donald W. Reynolds Science Center Planetarium The Donald W. Reynolds Science Center Planetarium, located in the Reynolds Science Building on the South lawn of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia , is considered to be Arkansas finest planetarium. With seating capacity for 45 people, it contains a state-of-the-art Ziess ZKP-3 planetarium projector, producing over 9000 stars and reproducing the night sky with the finest accuracy technology will allow.
The Festival of Two Rivers in Arkadelphia each April has canoe races, music, arts and crafts and other family events. Gurdon celebrates its lumber history the last Saturday in October with a Forest Festival featuring over 100 craft booths, an antique car show and contests of forestry skills.

In the first organized opposition to making Clark County wet, Larry Page of the Arkansas Faith and Ethics Council led an open forum Monday night with about 50 people in attendance.
Letter: 'Pro-wet folks' may not be very bright
To the Editor: Either the people pushing the wet/dry petitions are not very bright or they assume the folks of the community are not very bright.
